We raised nearly $30,000 to send 33 Ukrainian Scouts to Camp Alpine at the Kandersteg International Scout Center. From woodworking and archery to high-altitude mountain hikes, these Scouts experienced the magic of the Swiss Alps.
We launched Camp Nadiia (Hope) in the Gdansk region. 46 Scouts traveled from cities like Kyiv and Odesa to sail, kayak, and bond around the campfire with Polish and American Scouts.
Camp Nadiia 2025 took place from August 9–16 at HBO Winiec in Poland. Thanks to your generosity, it was a powerful week of international Scouting and friendship. A bus from Kyiv brought 48 Ukrainian Scouts and leaders to join Scouting America units from the United States—including Sea Scout Ship 99 (Utah), Sea Scout Ship 1701 (Texas), and Scouts from Troop 44 (Stuttgart, Germany). Our staff also included a UK Scout, and we camped alongside a large contingent of Polish Scouts.
The program offered abundant opportunities for team building and skill development: First Aid, knots, map and compass navigation, fire-making, and night hikes. Thanks to the Camp organizers and the participation of very experienced Scouting America Sea Scouts and Skippers, the camp provided robust aquatics program including swimming, sailing, and kayaking. As a service project, we planted 50 elderberry saplings for the local community.
Camp Nadiia 2026 (July 4 – 11) is planned to take place at a new location, as a NOSU camp in collaboration with the Czech Scouts at a location near Brno in the Moravian Karst. The Campsite, called Kaprálův mlýn is an Environmental Education Center and will support a program for Scouts ages from 9-17.
Fundraising goal 2026: USD $30,000 to support Camp Nadiia 2026, Exchanges and Training.
